Goodbye, April...Wife, Sister, Friend

Picture
Our dear friend, April Alvarez, went home to be with the Lord Monday August 5th, 10:38PM PST. She is survived by her husband, Frank, her family and many close friends.
We absolutely love her. We absolutely miss her.
We mourn; boy, do we mourn!
We love you, April!
And if there's one thing we know, it's that:
'Weeping endures the night but JOY comes in the morning.'
(Psalm 30:5)
You endured the night my dear sister. But now, because of what Christ did for you...Because of his GREAT love for you...Because he died for you...Because he absorbed God's wrath for you...Because he was righteous for you...And because he rose from the dead as a promise to you...
You probably heard him say to you:
'Well done, you upright (honorable, admirable) and faithful servant! You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little; I will put you in charge of much. Enter into and share the JOY (the delight, the blessedness) which your master enjoys.' (Matthew 25:23)
Your night is over. We wait to see you again in the morning.
Goodbye for now, April....

Pastor Ellery

April is a beautiful woman of God inside and out...God is the God of the living. She is alive with Jesus in a perfect body.

April and Frank were addicted to ministry...their home was a hub of precious fellowship. Boy those two could put a spread on! We laughed and fellowshipped a lot for years.

April was very kind to me and my family, always making us feel special. She loved her husband and family very much. Heaven has received a prize and we have all lost someone we will gain again.

She is one of the reasons I really want to go to Heaven!

So sorry to learn of your loss Mr. Alvarez. She is a beautiful woman "inside and out" as Vaughn said and I look forward to meeting her in heaven when all is over down here for me. May the Comforter fill your hearts and home with love and joy as you remember all the wonderful years you had together.

My wonderful sister and best friend. How I will miss you! These last 13 years together were not enough. My memories of our laughs and cries together will stay with me until we see each other again in Glory. You are more than likely speaking and rejoicing with my dad and your dad right now, awaiting the arrival of those you loved so much. My prayers and thoughts always for you Frank. We love you!

April, a woman with such love, joy, and full of life. A woman who would put others first before herself showing the love of God where ever she went. Although we've known you and Frank for about 5yrs it seems as though we've known each other much longer then that. I remember your funny humorous ways especially during praise and worship practice. Your sence of humor would make us all laugh. I thank God for blessing us with such wonderful friends like you and Frank. Yes, you will be miss but never forgotten and I look forward to seeing you and all of my love ones at my mansion in heaven, on the corner of Praise God Rd and Hallelujah Dr. Party time!!! Lol! See you soon sister, cause joy truly comes in the morning....Oh! and Congratulations for finishing the race and making it to the finish line I'm sure that crown must look beautiful on you. James 1,12.

You were always such a giver. No matter what you would ALWAYS put others first. I'm so thankful that we got to see you one last time. I will always treasure the memories we had with you. Like at practice in worship with your funny faces you would always put on to make me laugh & your "spanglish" lol You were never down, but always smiling. I am so blessed to have met such an AMAZING person. We will miss you April..until we meet again, to laugh together & see your funny faces. Love you April, its not a good bye but until we meet again in the House of Our Lord.

Words in any known language just cannot describe the Love in Christ we have for April and Frank. For now, only words in the Spirit seem sufficient-- maybe we can articulate our emotions later. I just ran across this old jazz standard I played back in music school and dusted off the piano to play it.

It's called "I'll Remember April" and has a whole new meaning to us now. Since words cannot describe our feelings, we will just let the music do the talking:

I remember April as she looks on this picture. She always had a smile and she also had a way to make you laugh. She loved to kid around us and yes, half Spanish and half English. She will always be remembered among us till we visit her at her mansion. The Bible said we will eat, oh might, I will love to have some of that "arroz con gandules" they used to cook. Frank, what a loving husband!! He was always by her side. They are inseparable. April, like Dorcas in the book of Acts, left behind many memories among the ladies in church. We have tokens of her love she gave us before she moved out of town. My heart and prayers are for Frank, for April is rejoicing with Jesus. Frank, we love you and you have a family here in Tampa. April, we will meet again and rejoice with our Lord and Savior. Until I see you again, friend.

I remember Pastor Loraine, April and I making a day trip down to the beach. We laughed, we shopped, we swam in the gulf - I had just gotten out of the hospital and they were taking care of me! April, you will be missed - but I know that you are rejoicing in the heavens with our Savior! You're probably singing - half Spanish, half English!! I look forward to seeing you again~

Our Dear April, How Beautiful You Are - a true Christian in every sense of the word - thank you for your friendship, your listening ears, your kind words, and perhaps most of all your lack of a judgmental spirit - your wisdom, kindness, & example will always be with me - as well as teaching me what & how to use a Cuban mob, thousands of household & cleaning tips, food & restaurant tips...You are a superb teacher...Professor Emeritus!!!! "With Merit" you lived life...well done... well done indeed! Thank you for blessing me with your friendship, and most of all your unconditional love.

I will miss you my friend. How wonderful for us to have found each other after after so many years....friends in middle school....friends forever. Although for a brief time, I will always treasure how much stronger our friendship grew. You are a beautiful person inside and out and your passing left a deep sadness in my heart. Thank you for the memories, thank you for your friendship. Our Lord promised us eternal life he who believes in him...and so....until we meet again.
